Keeping Utah Beautiful

Utah is home to five world-famous national parks, 43 unique state parks, and a spectacular diversity of landscapes. Utahns know that our state is the most beautiful of all fifty.

As a native Utahn, I grew up exploring and learning to love our state’s open spaces and I’ve passed that tradition on to my children. I know that Utahns are good stewards of the land, and we know best how to protect it. Utah’s treasured lands are not just beautiful, they’re a powerful engine to grow our economy, which is tied directly to outdoor recreation and tourism.

I understand the benefits that outdoor recreation and tourism bring to our state. A robust outdoor recreation and tourism industry is the key to keeping Utah’s economy strong. Recreation and tourism generate $12 billion annually in Utah consumer spending, support more than 125,000 good local jobs, and contribute $3.6 billion each year in wages and salaries, as well as $856 million in state and local tax revenue.

I’m proud to be endorsed by the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA), the national association that represents more than 1,300 suppliers, manufacturers and retailers in America’s $646 billion outdoor recreation industry and sponsor of the Outdoor Retailer trade shows.

In Congress, I’ll fight to protect the places we all love as Utahns, and I’ll work to make sure our children and grandchildren inherit a clean and beautiful Utah.
